Stomp! is the third quartet written for the Harrington String Quartet. Beginning on a unison, punctuated rhythm, the piece expands into a study of rhythmic animation and syncopation. The title is taken from a tune performed by Parliament/Funkadelic, a powerful, silly funk group and a favorite of McCarthy's.
