Elegy Op.24 for String Bass and Piano , by leading French composer, Gabriel Faure, was originally composed in 1883 for Cello and Orchestra. Displaying his typical use of harmony, this work begins with a sad and somber opening that builds to an intense, rapid section symbolising the despairs of love. This edition has been accurately edited by Homer Mensch and includes a Piano reduction of the Orchestral backing.
