Published by Cherry Classics. CY.CC2530. The Bestiary or "The Procession of Orpheus" was written by Poulenc in 1919. Mr. Sauer's adaptation of six short movements of about 5 minutes in length, originally for voice are poems from 1911 by Guillaume Apollinaire about animals. Camel, Goat, Grasshopper, Dolphin, Crayfish and Carp. This music is very suitable for young performers at the intermediate level and is a great way to introduce them to a major 20th century composer who's only other music for brass is the famous Trio.
