PE.P06977-S. ISBN M-3007-5250-1. Orchestral. Anton Filtz. also Fils. was born in September of 1733, in Eichstaett, Germany. In 1754 he became a member of the Mannheim Hofkapelle as a cellist. the Mannheim orchestra was at that time conducted by Johann Stamitz. He composed an extensive body of work, including at least forty symphonies, and died in March of 1760 in Mannheim at the age of 26. It has been alleged that his untimely demise was a result of his habit of eating spiders,. whose flavor he described as being exactly like that of strawberries. Full Score.
